Herbs of Interest – Lavender

Lavender – Lavendula angustifolia

Gentle and safe – Lavender has been used for centuries with no reported side effects or drug interactions.

  • A gentle tonic for the nervous system
  • Anti-inflammatory
  • Antiseptic
  • Repels insects
  • Helpful for hyperactive, irritable children!

Used as an essential oil it can be diffused, applied topically or added to the bath tub for a relaxing experience. If you are new to the use of essential oils, Lavender is a good starting point because it is well tolerated and gentle. I like to use it alone or mix it with a citrus blend, orange or lemon.
